Writing as a team…

Writing a book has probably been on your to-do list for a very long time. It’s your “maybe”, “ah, someday”, “biggest dream,” or “after I finish A, S, and Z”.  You’ve accomplished a lot in your lifetime… but,

  • you just can’t seem to get a book out the door.

So why hasn’t it happened? You can do it! Ray is inviting you to collaborate on the book in genres: poetry, humorous fiction, horror short stories, thriller, historical fiction short stories (or novel), contemporary fantasy (short stories).

If poetry book: writing 20/20 poems
If prose: then 15/15 or 20/20 stories (depends on the word count) or by chapter.
Professional book cover is on me. And, of course, 1 pro revision, edit/1 proofreading.

Well… you’ll find my mail address on the contact page – here

Many minds are better than one!

!!

  1. I’m already working with Laolu Ogundele – urban fantasy novel The Story of Ocean and Tiger, 50-60k (based on the first story from my ‘So Absurd’ book);
  2. And with H. M. Belsve – thriller Sophia von X70k. The story is about the transformation of Sicilian girl Sabina (the name of the blogger and writer Sabina Gabrielli Carrara – ortensia72.com 💃. Ray is a thief! 🤐) =>> from faithful delicate soul to the ruthless leader/boss of a fictional crime group, called 4-ASS. Locations: Sicily, Germany, Istanbul, Jerusalem. This book require a lot of research – The Bible, Hagia Sophia, everything with numbers 13-25, Passover celebration, Wahhabism and so on …let’s see if Ray can pull it off. Mood of the novel: humorous, brutal, grotesque… simply fun to read.

Also I changed my tagline (on the blog) – Books are like a mirror. If an ass looks in, you can’t expect an angel to look out. 😂🕺📚😱

HUGE ‘thank you’ for all support and reviews on my books!
Ray loves you too!

Ah, do not forget about the book of poems I’m planning to publish this autumn – Legs: A Global Perspective on Society. But more about it later… in the July-newsletter 📚☕️.

Next post – “The Pearl Territory”, chapter 18 – #dialogue, 25 or 26 July

Sounds like a great idea for stimulation, motivation, and simply pulling each other along. On the subject, trying to think of books I have enjoyed that have come from writing collaborations – off the top of my head, George and Wheedon Grossmith’s Diary of a Nobody; Rachel Cohn’s and David Levithan’s Nick & Nora’s Playlist; and not my favourite Carol Sheilds novel by far, but quite enjoyed one she wrote with Blanche Howard called The Celibate Season. I guess for SF there’s Illuminae, Kauffman & Krtistoff, which is well regarded, but not read it myself.
PS The ‘Dulcinea & the Death Code’ cover looks great.

      Agreed.
Some good stuff came out of 2 writers-collaborations, but of course, it’s a difficult journey, to make it “successful” – just as any 📖 book writing/publishing: have to see if theme/ideas, stylistics, strengths & weaknesses r matching.

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

Thank you 🙂 ppl love the cover 😂 … still my first book – Absurd stories – sells better. Maybe I have to promote Dulcinea more often… 🤪

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

Collaboration is a way to create more + sell more + professional & better content (at least for me, bcz I’m working with native speakers)… for ex: most of the television shows we watch, and most of the movies we see – written by 3 or even more people. With movies, someone will write a script, and then it will be passed on to the next writer, who actually rewrites some parts of it, and then it will be passed to 3d writer, who puts their own mark on it. Viola! 🕺🕺📖
possible with the book too :)))

  2. Kitty Jade says:

Good idea! I like to work alone but collaboration is a really good way to learn.

  3. Great idea! Collaborations are fun to write and fun to read, each writing style is unique and when edited around one common theme a compendium could be a great, I know I enjoyed participating in your artist and model picture prompt………….. however I should add lol not for me with my filthy mind 😛

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

Yeah you can make ppl blush…😂 I don’t know if it will work for me – collaboration – but I’d like to try 🙂 I have no plans to meet the authors anyway, it’s just online-writing-working-kinda-thing 🙂 I like it, cuz I’m a bit a loner, I prefer to spend time alone…

“Books are like a mirror. If an ass looks in, you can’t expect an angel to look out. 😂🕺📚😱“

    That is gold!

  5. Yeah, maybe…someday…hm…er…
    Sounds good to me.

  6. What a great idea, Victoria Ray. I wish I had the time to collaborate with you. Best Wishes

  7. Anonymous says:

I don’t think Dr. Seuss collaborated, so I’m at a loo for words!

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

Dr. Seuss would definitely agree collaborate with me :)) 😄🕺

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

I’m planning to publish 5-6 books a year during 5 years. So I need help lol collaboration is the key 🙂

  8. Hyperion says:

Ray, you must have a nuclear power plant running your genius mind 24/7. I could never keep up that pace. I think my ancestors were Lions because during the hot day, I want to lay under a tree and cat nap. You are doing fantastic things so after my nap, I like to read your blog 😁

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

I don’t know, but I prefer to run a couple of different projects at once. Then I’m not so bored. 😂
I’m taking breaks so I wouldn’t say I have a genius-24/7-working-pace 🙂 – > for example, now I left my mum at the airport & I’ll rest a week or so (from people, family, running-here&there, talking non stop and vacation 🏖). Then I’ll work hard 2-3 weeks. Hopefully finishing my next (poetry) book too, preparing for editing. This week will be very hot 🥵 weather in Sweden, so I may spend it watching movies & reading magazines under the tree 🌳😜 . Naps* = a #must 🙂

      • Hyperion says:

I see, said the blind man. Certainly, you manage time well and the inclusion of rest in the schedule is also a sign of a clever mind. I’m looking forward to more Ray magic 🌞

      • Victoria Ray NB says:

The key: I’m working on 2-3 projects at once 🙂 just like Agatha Christie 😂 and my focus – fun & entertainment #only 😉
        😜🤯🤓

      • Hyperion says:

I must study you. There could be hope for me after all. 😁

      • Hyperion says:

The secret is revealed. Ok, it shouldn’t be too big a challenge for me to focus on fun & entertainment 😁 I think it comes naturally for me.

  9. Jina Bazzar says:

That’s a tempting offer, what’s the time limit? And I like that tag line – and the explanation about the ass! 😉

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

No time limit, but I’m working for a couple of projects already in 2019-2020, so I guess I’ll be ready/free more in 2020-2021 and later on, of course.
Yes, thanks 🙂 cool tagline 😄

  10. Does collaboration work better if you are similarly minded or coming from different angles.

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

I don’t know. I just have to like the text (writing) the other person does… if I like – I see the possibility – “it will work” with my writing/text 🙂

    • K E Garland says:

As someone who’s written collaboratively, the only thing that has to be similar is the overall theme.

  11. K E Garland says:

This sounds like a great idea! And LOL @ “if an ass looks in…”

  12. ortensia says:

I just realised my comment never arrived here 😱lost in the spam probably.well long story short what I was saying in it is that I can’t wait fir your new project and I’m so honored I’m in it🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓Thank You

    • Victoria Ray NB says:

Probably in spam. Happens time to time 😟. Cool, 😎💃 glad you are ok with it. If everything goes as planned I’ll post first chapter in August (I’ll link to your posts)… 💕✌️😀
