“The Pearl Territory”, chapter 15 – Ola

Ola – #privatejournal

I don’t know what I want. I’m so fed up with my life that all I really desire is to die.

The year 2718 is usually described as the year in which so-called “Team Happiness” was blessed by Almighty Matrix Power, meaning its nine members were presented by the Divine Universe itself. If you ask me, I’d tell you that I don’t believe in any matrix-given power. Those nine are screwed. Two of them have already been murdered. In daylight. Mark my words, this is only the beginning of the end.

Happy ending for the happy team!
Sounds like fun!

I hope we avoid the war though… Let me remind you of the year 2713, when our female AI president, Iskra, suddenly released 40,000 AI-prisoners who were meant to be sent to the Trinity Colony on the Moon. The day before the departure, President Iskra invited 100,000 famous and powerful families to the yearly X Gala Feast and… had their throats cut. Just imagine, one hundred thousand human lives murdered by AI prisoners! Of course, people of Earth no longer believed in AI, and war became inevitable. No one won. Because, yeah… X-ray hit Earth just in time.

One of my nano-friends says that our daily activities on Netericus are depressing. It’s true. Maybe because we are still thinking about the life we once had on Earth. Or maybe because our “Happy Team” is a complete disaster. Memories we cherish and fantasies we create are our idea of what would happen if we’d escaped the war with machines or the x-ray catastrophe.

“They didn’t know what they were doing.” I hear that quite often. Hm. So, when Iskra released AI prisoners, she didn’t know what she was doing; when cyborgs (or bionic people) started a war by slaughtering the best of the best of human kind, they didn’t know what they were doing…

Wake up! We are a violent nation, in any form – as humans or as AI. Our violence is a genetic thing! Or maybe a present from the Creator, to keep us busy…

No one ever said we were born with all the tools we need to be or feel like our real selves. We have to find our passion, then grab it, stick to it, and never let go. Well, I did just that. I always loved action – in the movies, series, games. So, when my university started training for Maat’s Program of Martian Travels, I signed up. I was curious. Curiosity pushes us beyond our wildest expectations. And here I am today, on Mars – mostly advanced, somewhat human, and 100% broken.

I’m fine.
I’m fine.
I’m fine.

I have these terrible dreams about my wife, Thalia, almost every night… But don’t worry – I’m okay. Someone told me that dreams, or people you see when you are sleeping, tell you not only about the one in that dream, but about yourself as well. It’s like your own private fantasy, meditation about the future, or the past. In my case, it is the past, because the only joy in my life and my only soulmate is gone.

I don’t know what I want. I’m so fed up with humanity and Netericus that all I want is to kill.

Kill… all of them. Cash. Alexis. Richard Daw.

Killing is my liberty, my religion, and my zen.
“I’ll follow and not stumble;
Even if my heart is weak
I’ll continue my mission: wipe out, lynch, crucify…”
