Keep going

Wayne Gretzky once said: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” This is about going after what you want…

Sometimes I’m clouted with thoughts like “am I good enough to be here, to tell my stories, to write books, to publish them”, experiencing impostor syndrome. But then I tell myself “Stop it. Look at all your accomplishments. Think – you got where you are now for a reason. Face your challenges and don’t back down.”

Stand Ground

I think it is very important reminder today, to all of us, writing souls. Yes, life of writer is about the struggle we need to go through, about the difficulties we face to continue feel happy. Yes, someone or something may get in the way of you being able to pursue your goals and dreams. And yes, maybe they even block your path forward… But you can overcome this obstacle! How? Ingredient 1 self-belief + ingredient 2 self- confidence and + ingredient 3 self-improvement.

After this motivational KICK I’ll share The Shameless Plug – check it out. Kirkwood Scott NOVEL is looking for a home!..

And some news from Ray:

  1. A digital drawing of Dulcinea (for my upcoming book Dulcinea and The Death Code), pre-order 18 march.

2. I decided to switch places (publishing dates) for my books: non-fiction Nine of cups and children’s novel The adventure of ghost Nari. I already have full text for Nari, so I just need 10-12 illustrations and pro-edit. I’m planning to publish it before autumn. But Nine of cups still need thinking-writing-re-writing, so it can wait until November-or-December 2019. No rush…

3. Between all that I’ll publish a poetry book with black and white illustrations. I started this blog as a poetry blog in December 2016…so I have at least 30-40 poems to share!

4. And of course the book of my reviews (42). I need edit them and I have no time for that yet. Ha ha. But will be done during summer 2019.

Quote of the day: “Do it again. Play it again. Sing it again. Read it again. Write it again. Sketch it again. Rehearse it again. Run it again. Try it again. Because again is practice, and practice is improvement, and improvement only leads to perfection.” Richelle E. Goodrich

Bravo! Keep going . You are good enough. I have just finished reading Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming”. She had the same moments of wondering ‘am I good enough’? So you are in good company.

    Dig the drawing. Really nice.

I feel we need to embrace self doubt. We need to open the door to all the bad stuff that tells us we’re not good enough. Invite them in for dinner. Allow them to watch their favorite shows and smile when they tell you to drop this silly idea of creating the gibberish that’s rolling around in your head.

Why do all this? We need to be pushed. We need that fear. We need to be running and the only way to run is to be chased.

Excellent work you have over here.

  16. Loved it 🙂 Motivational !
