Ape and God

(a poem by Poetic Murderer)

An ape once in the jungle
Awoke to a weird question
“What is life”, it thought,
And instantly was human.

In many ways an ape still
It copied things it saw,
And sought to understand
Their bizarre nature.

Inventing fire as to burn
Bright like the midday sun;
Tools sharp as tiger’s claws
And boats to roam the seas.

Not satisfied with its creations
The ape went on a journey
And, lost inside its mind,
Was found there by God.

And God showed meaning to the human’s life…
And all life’s meaning was to be found in death.
And death was the harbinger of the afterlife:
Where no more questions would be asked,
Where all life’s worries would be masked,
Where all uncertainties aside be cast.

Yet, escaping God’s grip,
The ape did not submit —
Years of unexplained pain
Had made it wise.

Giving life final meaning
Is essentially dying,
Giving up. Forgetting
Who we truly are.

And so the ape still lingers
Forever searching, dreaming
Of a day when things
Start making sense.

  5. Interesting poem. As philosophical as a banana! 😀 …Speaking of banana, what if my green was your yellow? My grass would be your sun…

Ah, philosophy. Like slipping on a banana peel! lol….

Maybe green is yellow, but we don’t know about it 🙂 we create soooo many words. I wonder if we need them at all …
sun as grass – very surreal tho 💙😂

Wow, another string to your bow, poetry too. Great imagery and a deceptive simplicity to its philosophical commentary.

Mostly tired lol going to bed very early – no strength to write (have to edit last pages of my next book 📖), lots of workouts, no sugar, lots of cooking…soon guests will arrive – have to clean up everything, eh…did I forget anything? 😂

So apes, monkey are in nature or the smartest animals to Rome the earth when taught brilliant things by brilliant people or violent when taught by people of there own understanding and those that ONLY SEE THE APE AS COMING OUT THE JUNGLE…when left to teach its self it becomes frustrated and unteachable too a certain point …But Being this ape and being of Intelligent genes from birth…they start to teach themselves in there own way..too fit them comfortably…some may agree or disagree that’s because either they don’t want you too learn and not be of the jungle or they don’t want the ape too know too much or know more than them..but never forgetting the jungle made them who they are good or bad it’s just how certain people EYES REFLECT THEM…IJS and this could be with any animal NOT JUST APE!!! Cause some humans or similar too apes…THEY JUST DONT REFLECT THE EYES TO FOCUS THAT WAY!!!
