#coolprompts – Modesty

#coolprompts for this week: 3 July – 9 July

The word of this week – Modesty – use it in your text.

Describe it with the help of hyperbole if you can (non obligatory).
Hyperbole means “excess’ or uses extreme exaggeration to make a point.

Examples from daily life:

  • It was so cold, I saw polar bears wearing hats and jackets.
  • I am so hungry I could eat a horse.
  • I have a billion things to do today.

Example in the poem ‘love+hyperbole’:

I’ll love you, dear, I’ll love you
Till China and Africa meet,
And the river jumps over the mountain
And the salmon sing in the street.
W.H. Auden

To participate: post a story, poem or flash on your blog, tag the post – #coolprompts, pingback to Ray’s post (or any last post on RayNotBradbury’s Blog), if you want me to come over, read and comment. Any genre/style is welcome! No boundaries at all! It’s OKAY to bend the rules. Have fun!

My own example will be posted later this week…

"It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth, how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received. It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters" A. Ray
