Fear Factor

Based on the book of Maya Tiwari ‘Women’s Power To Heal: through inner medicine’.

The most prevalent negative emotion of our time? Fear. You may not even be aware that you are harbouring energies that can hurt and devastate your life. Yet your emotional and mental space can be held hostage by the negative emotions or destructive energies.

Fear is a dark, insidious clouds of helplessness that is masking our joy. You can see it in the growing numbers of suicides, high levels of depression and medicines. It is a dangerous trend. And it is based on the heightened atmosphere of fear.

Many faces of FEAR:

Anxiety
Stress
Depression
Obsession
Shame
Guilt

Lethargy
And More

To alleviate fear and anxiety try doing these simple practices at the end of the day:
Avoid feeding your imagination with angry, violent, scary images. Sit for about 10-20 minutes and collect yourself at the end of each day. Remove TV  from your bedroom. Try a brief self massage of your scalp and soles of feet with the oil.
Take the calming tea an hour before bedtime.
Too simple? = Just do it!

Combine the powders in a warm milk and drink (Maya Tiwari recipe):

1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 teaspoon jatamansi powder
1/4 teaspoon brahmi powder
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg powder
1/8 teaspoon liquorice powder (optional)

The biggest injury comes always from our own personal habits of harbouring unconscious anger and disregard for Self and the feelings of others. The most heroic thing you can do is to find the strength to meet everyday’s challenges and grow from them, and also -> stay in present.

ABHAYA MUDRA (5-10 minutes every day)

According to the Vedas, this particular Mudra (mud in Sanskrit means ‘to bring joy’) has been practiced by the Gods to induce the state of absolute valour and fearlessness. Even the fear of death, considered the deepest trepidation of the human being, may be removed through dedicated practice of this sacred hand gesture. You can add it to your daily mediation as well. 

-sit facing east
-raise your right hand to chest level with the palm facing forward
-loosen the wrist and let the fingers separate
-hold the Mudra for 5-10 minutes
-eyes can be open or shut 

If you know the emotional faces through which fear shows itself in your life, you may keep these in clear view as you invoke this practice.

  1. Well, I think I’ll have to follow your advice! Especially not feeding my imagination! I wound up with stress nightmares last night after completing a book I was trying to finish which was not great bedtime reading! ….that’ll teach me!

    I too, felt this way before. Last year, I lost my mother-in-law and my grandpa. It broke me down to a point where I grieved and then a wave of negative energies took over me where I felt scared going out and felt extremely emotional. I hardly ate anything for that week and I almost passed out myself. However, I had to cry everything out in order for me to feel my 100% again. Afterwards – those negative energies that we’re trying to consume me, all went away and I felt happy and full of positive energy. Thank you so much for you writing this. Bless you my friend. 🙂

      • It’s scary experiencing that kind of fear & negativity consuming one. Only the mind can push away and destroy fear itself hence – bringing one the balance of positivity and happiness to the universe and humanity. 🙂

  3. Wow! This is is a deep article. I guess we all carry some amount of fear inside us. And reading this I just realised that I can control the level of fear I allow to surround myself or within me. Will try the Mudra soon. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. “… harboring unconscious anger and disregard for Self…” This rings so true in regards to overall mental and physical state of ours. It’s so important to recognize it asap and learn to handle it. If you don’t get rid of the toxin, if you don’t find the antidote, you might end up in a body bag.
    I like how you presented a couple of different things in such a concise manner.
    Where would one get the jatamansi and brahma powder?

    • We can order it online in Sweden. Also a lot Indian shops selling it I guess. But I prefer online (but should be a good source).
      And agreed with u – get ride of the toxin as quickly as u can ✌️👋👍
