Every essay, like every good poem, should have a dark and silent place in it.
Silence. You always think there’s nothing there. But there’s always ‘something’ there, something huge and real. There is no silence if there’s no life. And life is everywhere. Even behind the closed doors, inside of an empty room. If you listen carefully – you can hear the harmonic sounds of the silence, you can hear infinity…
“I dont know why I’m still living here. We are frequently abused by humans. Each time I’m outside I have to watch out for those crazy screaming kids:”Oh look, it’s a rat.” “Eu, kick it!” – said squeaky voice.
“At least you are a pet, bro…I am still one scary ass creature. How’s yours?”
“Mike and Jessica? Like a rabbits”
“What kind of speed?”
“Variable speeds. Usually going pretty fast. Almost on the speed limit. I’ve tried to stop them, but…”
“Let them. They are young. And young humans are the horniest mammals on the Earth.” – slowly said a voice.
“You are too wise, Spider, because you are living in an empty house.”
“I had a visitors last afternoon. Again! Very loud couple…”
“Yeah, I’ve heard them screaming. Haha”
“It was a man…Women are not automatically scared of us, spiders. In fact most of the calls the Local Spider Society gets from worried men. For example, yesterday he saw me: “Aaaaaaa!!! There’s a spider on the bed!” Hm, man, any self-respecting spider is sleeping on the bed. And in fact, we, hairy spiders, are not dangerous. In fact nobody has ever died from a tarantula bite!”
“No, Rat. Paranoid people! They scare the living fck out of me.”
“Yeah, and only with two legs.”
“Always getting a small heart attack when I see it. Two-legged creatures that God put on this earth to create fear. Schhhhhhh!!!”
“But I always miss them…when they aren’t home.” – whispered a rat.
