Instead of getting a break when we need it most, the world seems to push, twist and pull us until we are at our breaking point…And our brains make matters worse.
But we’ll survive, right?
Look at this picture. Both of them are You. Only the one from the right side is The Real You, and the one from the left side – You, Destroyed by Life. I’ll call it – a Pancake. We love pancakes, but we don’t wanna be One of them.
How to avoid the process of becoming a pancake?
- Always take care about yourself.
Don’t panic, don’t blame yourself, don’t neglect your needs, don’t isolate from the world.
Don’t think you’ll hide in the dark Kenyan corner and the world will suffer. No. The world doesn’t care. This is a mean world. Stop focus on what ‘should have been’ instead of what IS.
It is what it is. It is Now. You can’t ignore it, and it doesn’t mean you have to forget about yourself. Who’s going to bounce back/fight if needed, Mr Tattered Sneakers? Shit already happened. Accept it and continue with your 7 hrs of sleep, exercising (50 jumping jacks, I’m counting…GO!) and eating of spinach with a spinach haha. When you’re taking better care of yourself you’ll be better equipped to deal with your problem.
- What is right? Look around. Ask yourself. Because I am sure, some things are going right… Even ‘black’ has own shadows.
When things are going wrong, it’s hard to recognize what is going right. It’s easy to forget about the good and only focus on the bad. Remind yourself (loud or write it down) that some things are going right. Even if its very small,
Find it => Look at it => Search for positive
- You CAN
Yes, you CAN handle this. Do you know why? Because you CAN control your attitude and reaction. Thats already 50% of the winning. What is within your control?
Think => Focus on that => Control that
One of the best things to remember is that you can handle tough situations. Even if today you feel angry, stressful, hurt, disappointed, sad, almost dying – boy, you are still alive. That means, you can get through.
- Believe or/and Imagine
‘Believing’ is some kind of mantra. Tell to yourself “Right here, right now I am doing the best I can”. Then imagine that. Repeat. After a while you’ll find that you are feeling much better, more powerful. You can do more, because you are believing in it. In yourself and your powerssss 😃 If you stay put, everything will only get lower: your mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. So keep it up!
- Move you arse!
There’s a ship. It is yours. You have to visit Amsterdam, but you are located in Zanzibar now. If you are going to sit on the beach in Zanzibar, spending all your time on thoughts: “what I’ll do when I’ll get to Amsterdam?” – you’ll never get there. I promise. You can’t steer a stationary ship. You have to find the way to move that ship in the right direction, in the moment where you are right now.
- Talk to yourself. Understand where you are in life, how you feel about it, what is different or what might change/be different…and release it.
What is to ‘release it’? How?
You are = Your Soul + Your Brain + Your Body
The part of you that is observing your thoughts is your soul (yeah, its kinda weird lol you are observing yourself, haha). But thats how we are created and connected and aware of who we are. Allow your soul to run free. Steps:
Listen. Be quiet. Surrender to the moment. Let go. Trust yourself. Trust that you don’t need to know everything, or understand. You can simply BE. And thats enough. Allow yourself to ‘show up’ just as you are.
“The quieter you become, the more you can hear”
And the last – write, write, write. Your feelings, your mistakes, your achievement and your actions.
So, do you still think you are going to get the gold medal “Mr/Ms/Mrs Pancake of 2017”?.. I don’t think so 🙂
