There is no WP-life without ‘awards’. Thanks to great blog ‘Daughter’s Diary’
1. What’s your favorite fiction?
A good book, any genre. The older I am the more I think that ‘genre’ doesn’t matter – I simply prefer to read ‘a well written book’, preferably with an interesting writing style or heroes to relate.
A good book should leave you… slightly exhausted at the end. You live several lives while reading it.
😁 I got an idea now – to write/publish a book in each genre.
About favs: I remember I read the book (russian) when I was 8-10 yo about two boys travelling thru a green glue-ish-river, saving kids from the Kingdom that has been ruled by mean people with the crocodile heads.
I don’t remember the title or author. And I still can’t find it. Sigh
2. What is your favorite non fiction?
I love non-fiction more than fiction.
Favs: for example, “The Gulag Archipelago”, Solzhenitsyn and anything from Edward Radzinsky (its historical fiction/non fiction united).
I only read biographies, metaphysics and psychology. I can dream up my own fiction.
3. E-books or hard copy and why?
I have 1 Kobo and 1 Kindle Oasis. I’ve stopped buying a hard copy or print. I go to the local library instead. E-books are easy to use and don’t need much space. But when I want to order a good old book (often science or non-fiction) – I can’t find any e-version on amazon, only print. Ouch!
4. What is your pet peeve?
Mmmm. People, I guess 😂
Also: I don’t like manicure, because the sound of peeling (nails) annoys and irritates me. It reminds me ‘the scratching sound of nails on the stone’.
Plus: When people are talking while I’m reading the book.
And: When my dogs are barking and the person they are barking at is just standing there, and watching…I mean, really? Walk away!
And MUCH MORE.
5. Book you were reluctant to try but enjoyed later?
Almost 😂 every second book…
6. How many books in your to be read list this year?
I’d like to read at least 70 books. But if I read less (or more) – its fine too. My point – to read different (in style) books or ‘well written’, or ‘classics’.
My GoodReads profile
7. How many books have you read so far this year ?
I read 30, but at the end of this week it will be 33.
I love the solitude of reading. I love the deep dive into someone else’s story, the delicious ache of a last page.
8. Which is your favorite memoir/auto biography ?
Each memoir is exceptional and magical read, an act of memory, perception and history.
Each of us is a book waiting to be written, and that book, if written, results in a person explained.
9. Book that is on your to be read list from many years but you still haven’t gotten around to read it?
“Blindness”, Jose Saramago
10. Book/s you are currently reading?
11. Have you read my blog? If so do you like it?
I have to say I don’t read blogs so often now, probably 2-3 times a week, but I think your blog is cool! Continue and have fun!
Feel free to answer those 11 question as well. Have a great day! And control your senses… because they are the windows for the mind.
Buying books would be a good thing if one could also buy the time to read them; but as a rule the purchase of books is mistaken for the appropriation of their contents.
